Yarranabbe House
This iconic Sydney home built in the early 1840s inspired grand musings and romantic notions with wild vines wrapping bygone arches, stately loggias cracked and crumbling, towering palm trees and wild undergrowth hiding antique pots and sandstone water troughs.

Our scope for the sensitive revival encompassed the interior architectural detailing, floors, walls and ceilings, joinery, lighting, hardware, window treatments, furniture and soft furnishings, art and objet working in close consultation with architects Gina Geritis and Mariana Lorena of LiveinDesign and builders Nathan Nicholls and James Michael of JMichael Constructions.
European sensibility for an Antipodean lifestyle.
Drawing inspiration from the Beax-Art greats we sought to create and reinstate symmetry, arched openings, classic architectural detailing and a hierarchy of spaces with detailed joinery, statement lighting and bespoke furnishings to compliment a timeless, transitional interior. Six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, three kitchens and a cellar span three levels of public and private spaces with an enviable north-east, harbourfront aspect.
An elegant palette of oak parquetry and decorative stone flooring, ornate wall and ceiling mouldings, brass, glass and alabaster lighting, marble vanities, stone fireplaces, Italian fabrics and steel frame windows delivers the elusive juxtaposition of classic and contemporary, the best of old and new for luxurious everyday living.
